Leah Dalton ( she/her/They/Them) is an M.F.A candidate at the School of The Art Institute of Chicago, with undergraduate studies at Savannah College of Art and Design where they received a B.F.A in Fashion Design and Art. Professional current roles include curating with an artist-run contemporary gallery, Chattanooga, TN, co-curator and intern with Compound Yellow an artist-run contemporary residency and gallery, Oak Park, IL, and past role as co-founder and curator of LIT an artist-run cooperative with Art Residency of Chattanooga. Dalton actively participates in community based art organizations in Chattanooga, TN and Chicago, IL as a volunteer, supporting member, curator, and activist. Dalton’s curatorial and art practice involves social and somatic practice, poetics, research, experimentation, and community engagement to inform the materiality and form of their work.

I focus on organizations and events that support LGBTQIA2S+ and BIPOC communities and individuals through sustainable and ethical practices within the field of art, design and other initiatives.
