Leslie Heinze

Artist Statement / Bio

Leslie Heinze is a mixed media artist, instructor and community activist. Leslie draws inspiration from stories of countless female pioneers within society and the cultural challenges that come with it.
Speaking a bold visual language with the primary themes exploring identity, connection with the natural world and resilience; her work has been featured in public exhibitions with Save Art Space and The Kentucky Foundation for Women.
As a teaching artist she works to encourage middle school students to use creative thinking with augmented and virtual reality while merging those skills with social entrepreneurship and design thinking. She furthers her work in community projects that help empower the youth and women through creative expression.
