Artist Statement / Bio

Judi Mae “JM” Huck is an Asian American poet, multimedia artist, & international teaching artist in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Nuwu and Nuwuvi homelands.

She holds a BA in Economics, a certificate in Museum Studies and training in healthcare storytelling. She explores ecopoetry and its blend of both science and art, while making a case for environmental advocacy. JM is passionate about community engagement and service; in 2023 she co-founded WeWrite! to offer generous support and inspiration for emerging writers to develop their craft. Huck’s poetry synthesizes her understanding of culture, history, nature and science.
