Cache Creek Watershed, Lake County, California.
Sponsored by Putah Cache Bioregion Project at the
University of California, Davis.
I have included music, poetry, movement, ceremony,
interactive participation in my visual art exhibitions
and installations. My Trash to Treasure Project
reaches students in elementary and middle schools.
Water Ceremonies
During 2000-2001 I will visit creeks in the Cache Watershed
to perform ceremonies of protection and healing. I float water banners
in these bodies of water and lead workshops for participants to make prayer
flags and write poems/short prose in honor of our water sources. We launch
leaf boats and hang the handwritten prayer flags. Still photographs and
videos of these water ceremonies arc shown at bioregional exhibitions.
