My art usually revolves around a single theme for many years at a time. My previous work has been about feminism, and then about the Holocaust and my Jewish heritage. Currently I am absorbed with issues relating to climate change and am working on a series of mixed media prints titled “Gaia.” Gaia was the ancient Greek earth goddess; today she is a metaphor for the entire biosphere of our planet. Because global warming is proceeding at such an alarmingly fast pace, with no end in sight, I cannot imagine a time when Gaia will cease to be the subject of my concern and my art.
