Through botanical forms, I explore change brought on by birth, aging and death. Since all life forms are interdependent and evolve together, I often merge botanical, anatomical and geological forms in my work.

I gather information for my work by sketching and photographing at the University of California Botanical Gardens. Later in the studio, I combine the photographs with drawing and paintings which draw on memory and imagination. This combination of fact, memory and imagination creates landscapes of imagined evolution and mutation.
