As artist/naturalist I have, for 28 years, dedicated my art and life to bridging the rift between western civilization and wild nature. My work is meant to reawaken our memory of nature and to imbue language and everyday actions with a sense of mysticism and wonder.

I believe it is through these heartfelt experiences that we will begin to establish a healthy relationship with nature. To do this I create outdoor participatory installations and nature walks that surprise habitual thinking and encourage the creation of new behavior: a gesture that returns something back to the natural environment; invented vocabulary giveing unexpected meanings to our relationship with nature; unique mapping techniques that instill a sense of membership in an ecosystem and watershed.

Recent installations: The Salmon Skin Cape, Walking In Deeper, Wild Coho Salmon: The Last Migration

Public installations since 1983: interpretive panels (art and text) installed in parks and preserves commissioned by the California State Coastal Conservancy, State Parks and State Department of Forestry.

Teaching: Celebration Of Trees" and "An Artist's Journey Into Nature." Ten year residency as Artist and Naturalist Jughandle Nature Center, Caspar, CA. MFA in Visual Art.
